Kenrick Chats About Fanny Brice July 11 at the York

News   Kenrick Chats About Fanny Brice July 11 at the York
The York Theatre Company's Musical Conversations series continues July 11 with an evening devoted to the late Fanny Brice.

The 7 PM discussion is the first of four celebrating "The Leading Ladies." The series of summer talks — hosted by John Kenrick, a musical theatre lover who created — will also focus on Mary Martin (July 18), Julie Andrews (July 25) and Angela Lansbury (Aug. 1). During the July 11 discussion, Kenrick, according to press notes, will "separate fact from fiction, as he dissects 'Funny Girl' and 'Funny Lady' — two bio-musicals about Fanny Brice. He’ll unearth this legendary talent’s true story, including her rise to fame in Ziegfeld’s Follies, her rocky marriages to Nick Arnstein and Billy Rose, and her triumphant career on stage, screen and radio."

Tickets, priced at $10, will be available at the door the evening of the discussion. The York Theatre Company in Saint Peter's Theatre is located at 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue. For reservations call (212) 935-5824, ext. 21.
