Through the Door is presented as part of the 2011 TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series. The musical has a book by Judy Freed and music and lyrics by Laurence Mark Wythe.
Butler plays Charlotte, with Ritchie as her husband and Stewart as the romantic prince of her dreams, Jean-Pierre. The ensemble includes Mary Jo Mecca, Julia Hirsch, Anthony Johnson and Nicholas Wuehrmann.
David Lee directs the 7 PM presentation with musical direction by Stuart McMeans. Kenny Howard is producer.
According to the authors, "Through the Door tells the story of Charlotte, whose has a rocky relationship with workaholic husband, Lenny. Charlotte is transported through a kitchen door to 17th century Paris, where she meets the romantic prince, Jean-Pierre."

The TRU Voices New Play Reading Series encourages submissions from emerging and established producers who are interested in testing the waters with a new work, and offers an opportunity for them to forge relationships with writers.
