Broadway Records will release the cast recording for John Kander and Greg Pierce’s newest musical, Kid Victory, currently playing Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre with direction by Liesl Tommy. The New York cast will head into the recording studio March 20 with a release date tapped for September.

The New York premiere of Kid Victory is playing through March 19; it officially opened February 22, following previews that began February 1. The story follows the story of a teenage boy, who, after missing for several months, returns to his small Kansas town.

The current cast is made up of Ann Arvia, Joel Blum, Laura Darrell, Jeffry Denman, Brandon Flynn, Tony Award nominee David Garrison, Dee Roscioli, Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba, and Blake Zolfo. (Original cast member Daniel Jenkins is currently in rehearsal for the Broadway production of Oslo and was succeeded by Garrison.)

The production features choreography by Christopher Windom, scenic design by Tony Award winner Clint Ramos (Eclipsed), costumes by Jacob Climer (Informed Consent), lighting by David Weiner (Vineyard’s This Beautiful City), and sound design by Tony Award nominee Peter Hylenski (After Midnight). David Loud (The Scottsboro Boys) serves as music supervisor, Michael Starobin (Falsettos, Sunday in the Park With George) is the orchestrator, and Jesse Kissel (The Visit) is the music director.

The cast album is being produced by Michael Croiter.
