Hairspray's Marissa Jaret Winokur, Rent's Joey Fatone and Beauty and the Beast's Jamie-Lynn Sigler announced Oct. 29 — at a press event at New York's Madame Tussaud's — that the seventh annual Kids' Night on Broadway will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003.

Tickets for the annual event, which provides free theatre tickets to children ages 6 to 18, will be on sale from Nov. 1 through Nov. 14 only. Among the shows participating in this year's Kids' Night are Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, Flower Drum Song, Hairspray, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia!, Man of La Mancha, Oklahoma!, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Stomp and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Presented by The League of American Theatres and Producers, Toys "R" Us and Madame Tussaud's New York, this year's event will feature a pre-theatre party from 3 to 6:30 PM at the Times Square Madame Tussaud's. The event will include an autograph booth, choreography sessions, hair and make-up stations, mock auditions, karaoke and a costume shop. In addition, nearly two-dozen restaurants in the theatre district will offer "kids eat free" meals if an adult orders a full-priced entree.

To date, Kids' Night on Broadway has provided over 200,000 kids the chance to attend live New York theatre. In a statement League President Jed Bernstein said, "The Broadway community is committed to providing opportunities for young people to experience the magic of live theatre. Kids represent the next generation of our audience, and we believe that by making it easier for parents to introduce young people to theatre, Broadway is making a vital investment in its future."

Kids' Night on Broadway allows every adult who purchases a full-price theatre ticket to a second free ticket for a child. Tickets will be available beginning Nov. 1 by calling (212) 307-4100 or (212) 239-6200. For more information, go to www.kidsnightonbroadway.com or call the Broadway Line at 1-888-BROADWAY.
