News Krakowski, McDonald, Esparza, Cerveris, O’Hara and More to Appear at Roundabout's Spring Gala Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall will direct "Beyond The Velvet Rope" — the Roundabout Theatre Company's annual gala — which will feature Jane Krakowski, Audra McDonald, Raúl Esparza, Michael Cerveris, Kelli O'Hara and more.

Roundabout celebrates the 30th anniversary of Studio 54 at its 2007 Spring Gala March 19. The event at Roseland Ballroom will begin at 7 PM. All proceeds from this event benefit the company's Musical Theatre Fund.  

Appearances will be made by Audra McDonald, Jane Krakowski, Raúl Esparza, Brooke Shields, Michael Cerveris, Kelli O'Hara, Brian d'Arcy James, Nellie McKay, Mario Cantone, Dierdre Goodwin, Alexander Gemignani, Megan Lawrence, Marc Kudisch, Peter Benson and more.

The "mystique of the unique cultural landmark [Studio 54] will be recreated" for guests who will be treated to a gourmet dinner and performances. The company will also present the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre to the City of New York "for its invaluable support in returning two classic theatres, Studio 54 and the American Airlines Theatre, back to Broadway."

The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre is named for the stage and screen actor who served on Roundabout's Board of Directors. The award was introduced in his memory and in honor of his unique contributions to the American theatre. It was first presented to actor Christopher Plummer in 2002 and has since been bestowed upon John Kander and Fred Ebb in 2004 as well as Stephen Sondheim in 2005.
