News Kristin Chenoweth, Shirley Jones, Matthew Modine to Star in "Family Weekend" Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Academy Award winner Shirley Jones and Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Matthew Modine will appear in the upcoming film comedy "Family Weekend," according to Variety.

The veteran stage and screen stars will be joined by Olesya Rulin, Eddie Hassell and Joey King for the film, which centers on a 16-year-old girl who takes her parents hostage when she becomes tired of their lack of attention to her.

Benjamin Epps will direct the film from Matt K. Turner's script. Adam Saunders and Chris Aronoff, of Footprint Features, will produce in association with the Bedford Falls Co.

Chenoweth, who recently finished a run on Broadway in Promises, Promises, is known for her work in Wicked and on "Glee," and for her Tony-winning turn in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Emmy-winning work on "Pushing Daisies."

Jones, fondly remembered for her film musical roles in "Oklahoma!," "Carousel" and "The Music Man," won an Academy Award for "Elmer Gantry" and appeared on Broadway in 42nd Street, Maggie Flynn and South Pacific.

Modine recently appeared on Broadway in The Miracle Worker and received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for "And the Band Played On." "Family Weekend" is set to begin shooting in Detroit this month.
