The New York event is part of the USA Network's Characters Unite program, which aims to combat prejudice and discrimination through public service announcements and live story-telling events in communities and high schools across the country.
USA has aligned with the non-profit storytelling orgnization, The Moth, to create the project. Each show will include five storytellers sharing a true, personal experience of facing bigotry or discrimination.
Promises, Promises star Chenoweth will host the event that will include Mos, Gallagher and Hill, as well as veteran news anchor Tom Brokaw, Barney's creative director and author Simon Doonan, Aimee Mullins, Wes Moore, Sirdeaner Walker, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Bonnie Hammer, Chris McCumber, Joan Firestone, Christopher Gorham, Frederick Weller, Tim DeKay, Tiffani Thiessen, Kari Matchett, Willie Garson, Anne Dudek, Sarah Shahi, Michael Trucco and Reshma Shetty.
Characters Unite launched its tour in New Orleans and will follow with stops in Chicago, Denver and Seattle.
