Nielsen, honored for her performance as Sonia in Christopher Durang’s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, was seen earlier in Durang’s Why Torture is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them. She recently won the Outer Critics Circle Award for her work in Vanya and Sonia. Her Broadway credits also include Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, To Be or Not to Be, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Spring Awakening, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Green Bird, Jackie and The Iceman Cometh.
Stadlen, recognized for his performances in the Lincoln Center Theater production of The Nance as well as for his performance in the Off-Broadway production of Checkers, has also been seen on Broadway in The Producers, The People in the Picture, 45 Seconds From Broadway, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum (Tony nomination), Laughter on the 23rd Floor, The Female Odd Couple, Candide (Tony nomination), The Sunshine Boys and Minnie’s Boys, for which he received Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Theatre World awards.
Equity member Richard Seff established this award in 2003. Previous recipients include Tom Aldredge, Reed Birney, Larry Bryggman, Lynn Cohen, Jim Dale, Hallie Foote, Jayne Houdyshell, Dana Ivey and, in 2012, Laila Robins and Patrick Page.
The awards presentation will take place at Equity’s Eastern Regional Board meeting June 11 at Equity’s office.
