Theatregoers across the country took her 2.5 Minute Ride; now Connecticut residents can catch a workshop production of Lisa Kron's latest autobiographical work, Well. The one woman play starring Kron will play June 15-23 on Long Wharf's Stage II during the annual International Festival of Arts & Ideas.
In Well, Kron looks at her mother's life as an advocate for racial integration in the 1970's and her family's history of chronic illness. An Obie and Drama-Logue Award winner for 2.5 Minute Ride, Kron also penned the Drama Desk nominee 101 Humiliating Stories and was a founding member of the Five Lesbian Brothers.
Leigh Silverman directs. She assisted Derek Anson Jones with the Lisa Harrow company of Wit and went on to direct Kathleen Chalfant in the Los Angeles production.
Tickets are $15. For reservations, call (203) 787-4282. The International Festival of Arts & Ideas is on the web at http://www.artidea.org. The Long Wharf Theatre is on the web at http://www.longwharf.org.
