Milan ("The Unbearable Lightness of Being") Kundera's play Jacques and His Master opens Feb. 10 at the Sacred Fools Theatre in Hollywood for a one-month run. Translated by Simon Callow and directed by John Sylvain, the play co-stars Phil Lamarr as Jacques and Patrick Towne as The Master.

Kundera's Chaucerian comedy, which is by turns bawdy and philosophical, deals with Jacques and his sidekick as they bounce across France getting involved in various sexual and political escapades. Kundera pokes fun at the nature of love between men and women, the class system and the immortality of bad poets. He also uncovers an ultimate truth: We just don't know which way we're going.

Others in the cast are Amy Bryson, Michelle Philippe, Adam Bitterman, Mark Auerbach, David Neilson, James Tosney and Shelley Wenk.

Sacred Fools Theatre is located at 660 N. Heliotrope Drive. For tickets and information call (310) 281-8337.
