News La Cage aux Folles Tour Will Play Chicago in December The national tour of the Tony-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles, which features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Harvey Fierstein, based on the play by Jean Poiret, will play Chicago's Bank of America Theatre Dec. 20, 2011- Jan. 1, 2012.

Casting for the tour has yet to be announced.

The musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of Georges, the owner of a glitzy nightclub in lovely Saint-Tropez, and his partner Albin, who moonlights as the glamorous chanteuse Zaza. When Georges' son brings his fiancée's conservative parents home to meet the flashy pair, the bonds of family are put to the test as the feather boas fly!"

The creative team includes director Terry Johnson, who won a 2010 Tony Award for his direction; choreographer Lynne Page; set designer Tim Shortall; costume designer Matthew Wright; lighting designer Nick Richings; sound designer Jonathan Deans; and orchestrator/musical supervisor Jason Carr.

The tour is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, David Babani and Fran and Barry Weissler.

Tickets range from $32-$95. Tickets are available now for groups of 15 or more by calling Broadway In Chicago Group Sales at (312) 977-1710. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.
