News La Cage Star Performs Mahogany for BC/EFA Michael Benjamin Washington, who portrays Jacob in the current revival of La Cage aux Folles, is set to return to Joe's Pub this month for a concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

On Feb. 28 Washington will reprise his critically acclaimed Mahogany: Reflections on Vanity, which features the actor as the "Ebony Enchantress" Mahogany. Mahogany, according to production notes, will "celebrate her birthday by reflecting on her life, loves and career through the songs of the great black divas of our time." Matthew Morrison will make a special guest appearance; show time is 9:30 PM. Michael Benjamin Washington, now in La Cage aux Folles, originated the role of Eddie in the Broadway company of Mamma Mia!. He was also seen as Ted in Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night, and his screen credits include "The Jury," "All My Children" and "Walker, Texas Ranger."
