What else is there to say but, "Oy"?

Opening June 26 at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood is a new farce set at a lavish Jewish wedding. Titled What The Rabbi Saw, Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore's comedy puts the bride, groom and best man through the wringer, with various undressings, a zaftig wedding singer and a mafia boyfriend contributing to the fray. According to the show's press release, all of them try to keep the officiating Rabbi out of the chaos by convincing him "he's hallucinating due to food poisoning."

Rabbi sounds like a stylistic departure for the Your Own Sky company, which previously mounted The Day They Shot John Lennon, the Holocaust-themed drama Bearing Witness, and The Shadow Box.

Kate Randolph Burns directs What The Rabbi Saw, which features Elaine Cubas, Jeff Denton, Lori Graves, Jason Hall, Alan Heitz, David Justin, Stefani Newman, Tim Ring, Troy Robertson and Jade Turgel. The show began previews June 25 and runs to Aug. 1.
