The theater company "La Fura dels Baus", which first made its International mark with shows in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1992 Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona, premieres an original version of the famous play by German Playwright Goethe, Fausto 3.0, which opened April 28.

This is the very first play La Fura will perform in a theater. During the company's eighteen years of existence, it has run it's various types of theatrical productions in most unusual places: the street, a slaughterhouse, a police precinct, and the internet.

Written by Alejandro Olle and Carlos Padrissa, Fausto 3.0 is based on Faust as written by Goethe, but with a modern flair. Fausto is also the first La Fura production first ever to be directed by a woman; Magdalena Puyo. The main actors are Santi Pons as Fausto and Miquel Gelabert as Mefistopheles.

The premiere will take place in the Catalunya National Theater, and later on Fausto 3.0 will tour to New York City's Lincoln Center and Lisbon's Teatro Belem, as well as various theaters throughout Spain.
