News La Guardia, with Lo Bianco, to Play Holiday Engagement at the Dicapo Theater Tony Lo Bianco will return to the Dicapo Theater on Manhattan's Upper East Side Dec. 4 for a limited holiday engagement of his one-man show, La Guardia, about the life of the former New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia.

Performances of La Guardia, which played a three-week engagement in October/November, will continue through Dec. 13. Actor Lo Bianco also adapted and directed the show.

La Guardia is an adaptation of Paul Shyre's play Hizzoner!, which Lo Bianco performed on Broadway in 1989.

La Guardia, according to press notes, "takes place in the former mayor's Gracie Mansion office in 1945 on the last day of his third term."

Tony Lo Bianco was nominated for a Tony for his performance in the 1983 revival of A View From the Bridge. His other Broadway credits include Incident at Vichy, Tartuffe, The Ninety Day Mistress, The Exercise, The Goodbye People and Hizzoner!
