LOS ANGELES -- On the heels of its successful run at the Laguna Playhouse, the Off-Broadway hit musical The Last Session will open at the Tiffany Theatre in Hollywood on Sat. Dec. 5, after starting previews Dec. 3. The L.A. production of the Jim Brochu/Steve Schalchlin work is produced by Ronda and Kim Espy, Bob-A-Lew Music, Michael Alden, Betty Barlia and Judy Arnold and is presented by special arrangement with the Laguna Playhouse.

The cast includes Amy Coleman, P.M. Howard, Michele Mais, Joel Traywick and Bob Stillman as "Gideon." Both Coleman and Stillman were in the six-month Off-Broadway mounting. Brochu directs.

The Last Session is set in a recording studio where a famous singer-songwriter is reunited with a group of musical friends to record what he has secretly planned to be his final album. "The arrival of an unexpected stranger turns the session into an emotional roller coaster ride of laughter, rewards and hope," said a company spokesperson. "The musical is about making the choices that define who we are and the love that can inspire who we might still become."

Laguna Playhouse is especially proud of the move, since their last production, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, also made a commercial transfer (to the Coronet, where it still plays).

The Tiffany is located at 8532 Sunset Blvd. Call (310) 289-2999.
