LOS ANGELES -- Stan Seiden, one of Los Angeles' few theatrical impresarios, has died. From 1975 until a few months ago, Seiden was president of Nederlander Companies West, which handles bookings at the Pantages, Wilshire and Henry Fonda Theatres and San Diego Playgoers Series, as well as concerts and other events at several other venues.
Seiden, who was 76, died Aug. 27, 1998 of Lou Gehrig's disease.
"He was very capable, very nice. Nothing can replace his kind of experience," said James Nederlander, chairman of Nederlander Companies, who flew out from New York for Seiden's funeral.
Nederlander also said he hasn't had time to consider a possible replacement for Seiden.
