Opera Offers All Tickets for $20 to Select Performances of Porgy and Bess and Merry Widow The Los Angeles Opera is offering $20 tickets for every seat in the house at the May 18 performance of Porgy and Bess and the May 20 performance of The Merry Widow at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
The initiative is similar to New York City Opera's "Opera-for-All" program, launched in 2005, which offers every ticket for select perofrmances in Lincoln Center's New York State Theater for $25 each.

L.A. Opera general director Plšcido Domingo said in a statement, "I have always believed that it is very important for us to make opera accessible to as many people as possible, and I am certain that our special $20 tickets will cultivate new fans for opera and give many a chance to experience the drama and passion of this classic art form."
