No casting has been announced.

According to Marcia Seligson, "Reprise!'s" producing artistic director, Sondheim himself selected the company to present the anniversary mounting. The show will be the only West coast staging of the musical in 1999. Calvin Remsberg, who will direct, has a passing knowledge on the work -- he played The Beadle in the first national tour with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn. Peter Matz is the musical director. The production will use the original orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Jonathan Tunick.

"Reprise!" is in the middle of its 1998 season. Its first offering, Richard Adler and Jerry Ross' The Pajama Game closed May 17. Next on the agenda is Threepenny Opera in September.
