La Soirée to Return to London for Christmas Season as Part of Southbank Centre's Winter Festival | Playbill

News La Soirée to Return to London for Christmas Season as Part of Southbank Centre's Winter Festival La Soirée, last seen in London in 2011, is to return to the capital following a world tour that included a residency at New York's Union Square Theatre. It will begin performances Nov. 5, prior to an official opening Nov. 11, in the La Soirée Spiegeltent at Southbank Centre's Winter Festival, for a run through Jan. 11, 2015.

The show, which won an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment during one of its four previous London seasons at venues that have included the Roundhouse and Hippodrome, will include appearances by long-standing favorites the English Gents, Ursula Martinez and Jess Love, newly joined by acts that include David and Fofo, Asher Treleaven, Marcus Monroe, Scotty the Blue Bunny, Jonathan Burns and Saulo & Anna, all making their London debuts. In a press statement, Brett Haylock, the show's creative producer, commented, "London holds a special place in the hearts and minds of the company, London is where audiences and critics fell in love with our dysfunctional family like no other. For our contemporary carnies and troubadours of no fixed abode, London is home."

He added, "We've been away from London for three years and have discovered extraordinary talents on our travels, so there’s a new generation of cabaret stars joining very dear old friends as well."
