LOS ANGELES -- Philip Sokoloff, longtime L.A. theatre publicist, will be seen in Crime Scene First Anniversary Special on Saturday May 29 at the Heliotrope Theatre.

Sokoloff, who was an actor before he became a publicist, has appeared in previous installations of Crime Scene. The show was created a year ago by Scott Rabinowitz and Danielle Surette for the Sacred Fools Theatre Company. It is a late-night serial with a brand-new show each week. Each episode features three storylines, three casts, three directors and three writers in a parody of murder mysteries, film noir and genre pieces.

For its first anniversary, Crime Scene moves into prime-time, with a special two-hour presentation. (Regular episodes are normally 70 minutes.

"All I can tell you at this point," said Sokoloff, "is that (a) there will be a big cast, (b) the episode will involve something called the Slasky Awards."

The Heliotrope Theatre is at 660 N. Heliotrope Dr. Showtime on May 29 is 8 PM. Call (310) 281-8337. -- By Willard Manus
