John Gould Rubin directs the developmental run scheduled to play through June 28 at The Public Theater. LAByrinth Theater Company members Julian Acosta ("Dirt"), Elizabeth Canavan (The Little Flower of East Orange), Yetta Gottesman (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot), Craig "muMs" Grant (A View From 151st Street, "Oz") and Michael Puzzo (Dirty Story) star.

"The insular existence of office life is a Petri dish for contemporary society," boasts an announcement for the new comedy. In Penalties & Interest "Lollie, Lyle and Amy try to keep their heads above water, and their boss, Dick, bobs up when they least expect it."

The design team for this "bare-bones production" includes Chris Barreca (scenic), Oana Botez-Ban (costume), Nicole Pearce (lighting) and Betsy Rhodes (sound). Paula Pizzi serves as dramaturg.

LAB first presented the work-in-progress as a free reading during its annual retreat, the Summer Intensive, at the 2006 Barn Series festival.

Tickets for Penalties & Interest at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street, are available at The Public Theater box office, by calling (212) 967-7555, or online at www.publictheater.org. For more information visit labtheater.org.
