News Laguna Playhouse Launches New Season with Forever Plaid, July 6 California's Laguna Playhouse kicks off its 2004-2005 season with Stuart Ross' musical Forever Plaid, starting July 6.

The season opener is set to open July 10 for a run at the Laguna Beach venue through Aug. 29.

Ross — who originally staged and choreographed— penned the musical which follows a quartet of male singers who crash their car on the way to their first big concert. The '50s style group get one more chance in heaven to perform the gig that never was.

Larry Raben directs the Laguna run featuring a cast that includes Ryan Drummond, Steve Gunderson, David Humphre and Kevin McMahon. Musical continuity supervision and arrangements are by James Raitt.

The design team for Forever Plaid features Dwight Richard Odle (scenic and costume), Steven Young (lighting) and David Edwards (sound).

Songs featured in the show include "Three Coins in a Fountain," "Sixteen Tons," "Catch a Falling Star," "Matilda, Matilda," "Heart and Soul" and "Love is a Many Splendored Thing."
