News Lahti and Delany Set for PlayWriteGirl at Pasadena Playhouse Christine Lahti, Melora Hardin and Dana Delany are among the actresses who will perform the work of young playwrights as part of PlayWriteGirl May 3 at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Pasadena Playhouse has partnered with the Los Angeles-based WriteGirl organization, which specializes in encouraging the work of young women writers in all genres, from songwriting to journalism and playwrighting. The upcoming event will focus on works for the stage.

The Playhouse will host over 150 young women who will participate in workshops with professional women writers. The workshops will feature writers including Heather Hach (Legally Blonde the Musical), Laural Meade, Jennie Webb, as well as screen writers Robin Swicord (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), Gina Prince-Bythewood (“Secret Life of Bees”), producer Jennifer Crittenden (“The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Seinfeld”), Martha Williamson and Jule Selbo (“Touched by an Angel”).

The event will culminate in a 6 PM performance on the Pasadena Playhouse Mainstage that will include Lahti, Hardin, Delany, Kate Flannery, Erin O’Brien, Ellyn Stern, James Denton, Annie Potts, JoBeth Williams and Sprague Grayden.
