Variety reports that Mark Lamos will replace the late Gerald Gutierrez, who recently died in his sleep of respitory failure as a result of the flu. Lamos, who was a long-time artistic director of Hartford Stage, received a Tony Award nomination for his direction of Our Country's Good. His other Broadway directorial credits include The Deep Blue Sea and The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm. Part of the upcoming festival of Tennessee Williams works, "Tennessee Williams Explored, " Cat on a Hot Tin Roof will play the Eisenhower Theatre, June 1-20. As previously announced, Dana Ivey, who is currently starring in Henry IV at Lincoln Center, will play Big Mama. Ivey is a three-time Tony Award nominee for her performances in Sunday in the Park with George, Heartbreak House and The Last Night of Ballyhoo.
