News L.A.'s Reprise! Announces Season 2000-2001; Rivera, Sills to Star Marcia Seligson, producing artistic director of Los Angeles' Reprise! Broadway's Best in Concert, has announced casting news about the fourth season of Broadway musicals at the UCLA Freud Playhouse. Chita Rivera will star in Irving Berlin's Call Me Madam, which opens the season and runs Sept. 13-24. The concert version of the musical will be directed by John Bowab, who recently directed Rivera in a fund-raising concert of Sweet Charity at New York's Lincoln Center.

Marcia Seligson, producing artistic director of Los Angeles' Reprise! Broadway's Best in Concert, has announced casting news about the fourth season of Broadway musicals at the UCLA Freud Playhouse. Chita Rivera will star in Irving Berlin's Call Me Madam, which opens the season and runs Sept. 13-24. The concert version of the musical will be directed by John Bowab, who recently directed Rivera in a fund-raising concert of Sweet Charity at New York's Lincoln Center.Douglas Sills, presently starring in the Ahmanson Theatre's production of The Scarlet Pimpernel, will appear as Mack in Jerry Herman's Mack & Mabel, Nov. 8-19. The production will also introduce a newly revised book by Francine Pascal. Arthur Allan Seidelman directs.

The season will close Feb. 21-March 4, 2001, with Strike Up the Band, with music & lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, book by George S. Kaufman. The concert adaptation is by David Ives. Peter Matz is the musical director of Reprise!
