LOS ANGELES -- Jim LeFave, Melora Marshall, Milan Dragicevich and Ford Rainey are just some of the featured players in Theatricum Botanicum's production of The Crucible, opening Aug. 2 at 7.30 PM.
The director is Ellen Geer, whose actor/father, the late Will Geer, was no stranger to witch-hunts and the damaging consequences of fanaticism based on fear, having been blacklisted during the McCarthy era.
The Crucible plays Sunday evenings at 7.30 PM through Sept. 20, and Sunday matinees at 4 PM Aug. 8 through Aug. 29. Tickets are $17/$12 upper tier; $12/$10 seniors, students & Equity members. Children 6-12: $5; children five and under free.
The other plays presently running in repertory at Theatricum Botanicum's outdoor amphitheater include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Lettice & Lovage and Romeo and Juliet.
Two special events, part of the Alfresco Music Series, are upcoming. On Friday, August 7 at 8 PM, Ellen Geer and Melora Marshall will reprise their popular cabaret act.
