Oscar Wilde may have been a brilliant playwright and speaker, but did he ever act in a play, directed and designed by himself? Two time Drammy Award winner Michael Lasswell (Travels With My Aunt) will do all three -- act, direct and do sets & costumes -- for the Artists Repertory Theatre's production of Moises Kaufman's Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, opening Sept. 10. Indecency runs through Oct. 17.
Lasswell plays the lead, Wilde. Also in the cast are Tom Lasswell, Shelly Lipkin, Brian Russell (Lord Alfred Douglas), Nicholas Burilini Price, John Jankow, Jonathan Molitor and Brian Van Flandern.
Joining Lasswell on the design team are Martin John Gallagher (sound) and Drew Flint (lighting).
Tickets are $25-$13.50 and available by calling (503) 241-1ART. The Artists Repertory Theatre is on the web at http://www.artistsrep.org.
