Canada's 1998 Shaw Festival will draw its curtains this weekend, with all still-running production giving their last performances by Nov. 1. First to shutter at the Niagara-on-the-Lake festival is Lady Windermere's Fan, which ends its run Oct. 31. Festival staple Fiona Reid stars in the Wilde comedy, an exploration of Victoria morals which also stars Colombe Demers, Ben Carlson, and Gordon Rand, under Christopher Newton's direction.

Meanwhile, shows closing Nov. 1 include Shaw's Major Barbara, Kaufman and Hart's You Can't Take It With You and the new Gershwin-scored musical A Foggy Day. (One show, The Shop at Sly Corner, by Edward Percy, will run through Nov. 29.)

The Shaw Fest began performances April 15, 1998. For information, call (800) 511-7429
