Last Chance to catch The Cleveland Public Theatre's production of Eric Bogosian's subUrbia, playing Nov. 19-Dec. 12.
subUrbia reveals the lives of five suburban twenty- somethings hanging out, drinking beers and partying one night in front of a 7-11, waiting for a visit from a high school buddy-turned rock star. His visit stirs many upsets in the ones he left behind, and heated confrontations send the characters into a race to re-organize before they face the reality of their existence. A film adaptation of the play, directed by Richard Linklater, was released in 1997 starring Parker Posey.
Although being renown for his solo monologues and movie roles, Bogosian is the author of three plays including: Talk Radio and Griller.
Also at CPT is Jeff Goode's The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, playing Dec. 3-19. In The Eight, Santa has been accused of inappropriate sexual relations with Vixen and each reindeer comes to the stand, presenting its testimony.
Tickets for CPT's production of subUrbia or The Eight: Reindeer Monologues are ($12). For reservations or more information, call (216) 631-2727. -- By Sean McGrath
