The Hoboken-based Waterfront Ensemble closes its 1999 Spring Series of Long and Short Plays May 2 at the Flatiron Playhouse. The series features three works: Whatever Happened to You and Me?, Phoebe Makes the News and Spring Shorts '99.

Whatever, the story of an untimely love, was directed by Tim Craig and ended performances April 25.

The second play is a comedy by Terri Campion, Phoebe Makes the News. Directed by Lynne M. Boone, it is the story of a cartoonist who comes to the big city to find love and fulfillment.

The third production is a series of five one-act plays called Spring Shorts '99, written by Pete Ernst, Suzanne Marshall, Carl Gonzalez, Jason Grote and Luigi Jannuzzi. These shows are directed by Joseph Giardina, Bob Reed, Wendy Overly, and Brad Rohrer.
