News Last Chance: OB's E.S.T. Marathon Crosses Finish Line, June 17 On June 17, Off-Broadway's Ensemble Studio Theatre (E.S.T.) winds up this year's one-act Marathon with plays by Craig Lucas, Julie McKee, Edward Allan Baker and David Reidy. As in past years, the festival consists of three separate evenings, run sequentially rather than in repertory. Series A ran May 9-20, Series B ran May 23-June 3.

According to an E.S.T. spokesperson, here's the 2001 Marathon Line up for Series C (June 6-17):

Larry's Charm by Edward Allan Baker shows the confrontation between a woman with a missing husband and his mom. Featured are Sharon Walsh, Lynn Cohen, Maria Gabriele and Tessa Ghylin.
Grief by Craig Lucas (author of Prelude to a Kiss) tells of a woman (Delphi Harrington) venting at her family after the father's funeral. Neal Huff and Christopher Orr also star.
Invitation to a Funeral by Julie McKee, tells of two ex-wives (Susan Pellegrino and Kathleen Doyle) remembering their recently deceased, mutual hubby.
Late Night in the Women's Restroom of the Jungle Bar by David Reidy has three women (Melinda Hamilton, Diana LaMar, Jen Drohan) convening in a club bathroom. Kevin Shinick also stars.

Night Rules by Billy Aronson, in which couples quarrel about raising their kids. Executive producer Jamie Richards directs Thomas Lyons, Katherine Leask and Joe Urla
Ukimwi by Tom Coash, about an American oil worker in Egpyt and the prostitute he meets. E.S.T. managing director Eliza Beckwith directs Nicole Leach and Holter Graham.
Arabian Nights by David Ives, author of All in the Timing, follows a mixed-up translator at an Arabian bazaar. Jason McConnell Buzas directs Anne O'Sullivan, Melinda Hamilton and Chris Duvas.
Brown by Cherie Vogelstein, tells of a job interview gone awry. Jamie Richards directs Susan Greenhill, Sam Freed, Grant Shaud, Zach Scheffer.

Series B (May 23-June 3):
Inspector Ohms by Frank D. Gilroy, is about a popular mystery writer receives a visit from a character she's decided to kill off.
Pandora by Susan Kim, tells of a family about to bury a pet.
The Summer Sublet by Laurence Klavan, tells of a young man drawn into relationships with a woman, her husband, and his shady business associates.
Fifteen Notes by Ruth Kirschner, follows a lonely woman writing to her dying father's doctor.
