Troubles with gorgeous women bring on The Cleansing of George Cuthbert, a new comedy finishing its Off-Off-Broadway run Sept. 27 at the Theatre Row Theatre. Performances began Sept. 10. The play, written by Eugene Robert Black, follows Connecticut banker George Cuthbert as he travels to Palm Beach to consumate an affair with an aspiring actress. Three other attractive women -- as well as his wife and high school sweetheart -- show up to complicate the situation.

Bud Wideny directs John Montieth (of Montieth & Rand fame) as George Cuthbert and Deshja Driggs, Julie Lancaster, Susanna Tsyskin, and Amy Danis as the bevy of beauties who make the banker's life hell. Also in the cast are Tom Foral, Sheila Browne, and Roseann Sheridan.

Ray Cullon designed the lighting, Scott Widney, the sound, and Ilse Kritzler served as design consultant.

The Cleansing of George Cuthbert runs through Sept. 27. Tickets are $12 and can be reserved by calling (212) 279-4200 or (212) 539-3861. Theatre Row Theatre is located at 424 West 42nd Street.
