Off-Off-Broadway's Present Company will close Elena Penga's Gorky's Wife on Dec. 19. The production opened Nov. 26 at the company's home on the Lower East Side.

In Gorky, Balkan refugee Veronica and Americans Ben and Leo spend the night in downtown L.A. in the company of the ghosts of Russian writer Maxim Gorky and his wife.

The cast will feature Peter Coriaty, Curtiss I. Cook, Michael DiGioia, Gita Srinivasan and Rebecca Wisocky. The Greek-born Penga lives in both the U.S. and Greece. Her work has been seen in the U.S. at the Kitchen and Chelsea Playhouse.

Feb. 10-March 4, 2000, the Present Company will present a new, as-yet unannounced play by John Clancy. Last season, the troupe revived Clancy's Paper Man.
