The predicament about what to do with a mentally-challenged man after his parents are gone is the focus of John Henry Redwood's award-winning drama, A Sunbeam, ending its run this weekend at Pennsylvania's Bristol Riverside Theatre. Previews began March 30 for an opening April 1 (press night April 2) and a run through April 18.

Redwood, whose The Old Settler enjoyed a successful run at New York's Primary Stages this season, won the McDonald's Literary Achievement Award for Sunbeam, which will be directed by Susan D. Atkinson.

The production features Paul Bates as the mentally challenged son; Micki Grant and Thomas Martel Brimm as his parents; and Jeffrey Carr (replacing previously announced Clayton LeBouef), Allison Eikeren and Jo Twiss. Sets are by Bart Healy, costumes by Andre Harrington, and lighting by Scott Pinkney.

Performances are at 120 Radcliffe St., Bristol, Pa. Tickets are $22 to $29. For tickets, call (215) 785-0100. Next up at Bristol Riverside: the musical Brigadoon, starting May 18.
