The Perishable Theatre of Providence, Rhode Island finishes up its 7th Annual Women's Playwriting Festival June 20. Three one act plays have been awarded world premiere productions, which started at the Perishable May 22.
This year's winners are Olga Humphrey's Hyperactive, Jennifer Mattern's Just Resting and Carson Kreitzer's Dead Wait.
Playwrights receive a cash prize, a fully staged production or staged reading for a month-long run and inclusion in a festival anthology that combines the winning scripts with critical commentary provided by area critics.
As a part of the festival, the Rhode Island Committee for the Humanities will sponsor a post-performance discussion with the playwrights May 22 and a Sunday evening lecture/dinner series called "Talk With Your Mouth Full".
