The Southwest premiere of Nicky Silver's The Maiden's Prayer, will end its run at Houston's Stages Repertory Theatre on Aug. 8. The production officially opened July 16.
In Maiden, Paul loves Taylor. Libby loves Taylor, but Taylor marries Cynthia. Cynthia loves reminding Libby and Paul that she is the recipient of Taylor's love, not them. Not included in the love rectangle is Andrew -- who loves anyone with a nice apartment and basic cable.
Playwright Silver received the attention of critics with his 1993 play Pterodactyls at Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre. Other plays include: Raised in Captivity, Fit to be Tied, The Food Chain, My Marriage to Ernest Borgnine, and Fat Men in Skirts.
Stages cast includes: Paul Nicely, Anne Quackenbush, Deborah Hope, Brady Smith, and Dan Deleon. Chris Jimmerson will direct.
