South Coast Rep will close David Hare's Skylight Feb. 28, 1999 at the company's Second Stage. The play began previews Jan. 26 and opened Jan 29.

Lars Carlson, Martin Jarvis and Cindy Katz are the featured performers. The director is Martin Benson, SCR's artistic director.

The design team is John Iacovelli (sets), Candice Cain (costumes) and Paulie Jenkins (lighting). Randall K. Lum is stage manager.

Hare is one of England's best known playwrights. His most recent play, The Blue Room, is currently playing on Broadway starring Nicole Kidman and Iain Glen.

Carlson is making his Second Stage debut. In 1997 he toured with SCR's Educational Touring Production, Rhubarb Jam. Jarvis recently returned from England where he appeared in Shaw's The Doctor's Dilemma at the Almeida Theatre. He played a cameo role last year in the film "Titanic," appearing as Sir Cosmo Duff Gordon.

Katz previously appeared at SCR in Private Lives, The Taming of the Shrew, The Cherry Orchard and The Misanthrope. She spent two years as a company member at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
