Last Chance To Catch Emily Skinner as Magdalene in Nyack Superstar Jan. 3 Side Show star Emily Skinner will end her stint as Mary Magdalene in a Nyack production of Jesus Christ Superstar, Jan. 3, 1999.

The production marked the first solo effort for Skinner after having been latched to Alice Ripley in Side Show. Ripley and Skinner, together, were nominated for a "Best Actress" Tony award and recorded an album together entitled "Duets" after starring in the cult hit but box-office flop.

Skinner's new partner, at least for Superstar, was Billy Porter -- of the Grease! revival. Other Broadway gigs for Porter have included: Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, and Smokey Joe's Cafe.

Jesus Christ Superstar was Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's second creation (after Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).
