Californians have one more chance to check out the cult musical, Side Show at TheatreWorks -- it closes Nov. 8. The production marks the regional premiere of the Siamese twin musical and opened Oct. 24.

Side Show , nominated for four Tony Awards including Best Musical, is based on the true story of Daisy and Violet Hilton, Siamese twins who rose from a sideshow attraction to become a singing and dancing vaudeville act in the 1930's.

Robert Kelley directs the regional premiere, with Bick Goss listed as choreographer. Deborah Wiseman (Violet) and Kristin Behrendt (Daisy) star in the musical.

Although a commercial failure on Broadway, the pairing of original stars Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner became such a cult hit, the two recently released a CD, "Duets," and they often sing at benefit concerts together.
