Charles Smith's Les Trois Dumas will wrap up its run at Indiana Repertory Theatre in Indianapolis on May 16. The drama plays on May 15 at 7:30 PM and May 16 at 1 and 5 PM. In the play, which was commissioned by IRT, Alexandre Dumas pere, the author of The Three Musketeers, struggles to connect with his moralistic son Alexandre Dumas fils, while grappling with the legacy of his grandfather, the only black general in Napoleon's army.
Smith is best known for Black Star Line, which was produced by the Goodman and nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. The production is directed by Tazewell Thompson, who has worked at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, and New York's Manhattan Theatre Club.
