Billy Elliot (Broadway at the Imperial Theatre). Based on the hit film of the same name, the Tony-winning Billy Elliot is the story of a boy who wants to be a ballet dancer, even though his father wants him to box. Lysistrata Jones (Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre). A modern adaptation of Aristophanes' Lysistrata, the new musical introduces a hapless basketball team and its cheerleaders, who come up with a "Just Say No!" campaign to inspire victory. Voca People (Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre). Catch the Voca People before they transfer to New World Stages  (beginning Feb. 16). The production is described as a "musical event [that] combines vocal sounds, a cappella singing, comedy and beat box. Performed by eight snow-white ruby-lipped aliens with perfect harmony, there are no musical instruments, only vocals." Visit Telecharge.

Say Goodnight Gracie (Off-Broadway at St. Luke's Theatre). In Say Goodnight Gracie, "theatre audiences take a guided tour through an American century told through the eyes of George Burns (Joel Rooks) who savored each day from his impoverished youth on the lower East side, to his career in Vaudeville, his marriage to Gracie Allen, their rise to success on stage, screen, radio and TV, and finally George’s 'second time around.'" Visit Telecharge. Blood and Gifts (Off-Broadway at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater). Spanning a decade and playing out in Washington DC, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Blood and Gifts "reveals the secret spy war behind the official Soviet-Afghan War of the 1980s and the story of the unknown men who shaped one of the greatest historical events of recent history, the repercussions of which continue to shape our world." The Cherry Orchard (Off-Broadway at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater). First presented in 1904 at the Moscow Art Theatre, The Cherry Orchard was Chekhov's final play. With this new production, CSC completes its acclaimed Chekhov Cycle, which has included The Seagull, Uncle Vanya and Three Sisters. Cherry Orchard features John Turturro as Lopakhin, Dianne Wiest as Ranevskaya and Daniel Davis as Gaev. Visit CSC.
