My Mother Has 4 Noses (Off-Broadway at The Duke). The New York premiere of My Mother Has 4 Noses, the autobiographical musical play about caring for an ailing parent, is written and performed by singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke. "In My Mother Has 4 Noses, Jonatha Brooke tells of her experiences caring for her mother during the final two years of her life," press notes state. "Quite the character, Jonatha's mother was a published poet, a clown, and a Christian Scientist. She also had dementia... as well as 4 noses." Visit DukeOn42.org.

Beyond Therapy (Off-Broadway at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre). TACT/The Actors Company Theatre's production of Christopher Durang's Beyond Therapy features TACT company members Mark Alhadeff, Cynthia Darlow, Jeffrey C. Hawkins and Liv Rooth as well as guest artists Karl Kenzler and Michael Schantz. In Beyond Therapy, press notes state, "life can be crazy. Therapy can help? In its first New York revival, Christopher Durang's razor sharp comedy about the search for a meaningful relationship in an insane world may provide the best therapy of all - guaranteed laughter." Ode to Joy (Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre). Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's world premiere of Ode to Joy, starring Tony Award nominee Kathryn Erbe, is written and directed by Tony and Pulitzer Prize nominee Craig Lucas. The cast also features Roxanna Hope and Arliss Howard. Here's how the show is billed: "Ode to Joy tells the story of love, heartbreak, addiction, and illness through the eyes of Adele, an audacious painter and her destructive relations with Mala and Bill, her two lovers." Greed: A Musical for Our Times (Off-Broadway at New World Stages/Stage 2). Greed: A Musical for Our Times, written by Michael Roberts and directed by Christopher Scott, stars Tony Award nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo with Julia Burrows, Neal Mayer and James Donegan. Here's how it's billed: "What do Jamie Dimon, Lance Armstrong, Pope Francis and Bernie Madoff have in common? They all appear in Greed: A Musical for Our Times... Greed's musical comedy targets range from Ponzi schemes to the not so subtle sales pitches of retirement planners and mortgage bundlers, with numbers like 'A Little Juice,' 'Inside Information,' 'I'll Cheat On My Taxes' and 'The Ballad of Jamie Dimon,' Greed takes aim at the obvious, and not so obvious, targets." I Remember Mama (Off-Broadway at the Gym at Judson). The Transport Group production of John Van Druten's I Remember Mama is helmed by artistic director Jack Cummings III. The cast features ten veteran actresses playing all 23 roles: Barbara Andres, Barbara Barrie, Alice Cannon, Lynn Cohen, Rita Gardner, Heather MacRae, Susan Lehman, Louise Sorel, Dale Soules and Phyllis Somerville. I Remember Mama, according to press notes, "exposes the everyday tragedies and triumphs of one Norwegian immigrant family, determined to thrive, in San Francisco at the turn of the last century. Redefining family, time, and memory, Transport Group's production features a cast of ten veteran actresses who play all 23 roles. This reinterpretation of Van Druten's simple and honest story reveals how even the smallest and seemingly insignificant experiences of family life can silently accumulate and take our breath away."
