The Village Bike (Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre). The MCC Theater production of Penelope Skinner's The Village Bike stars Golden Globe Award-nominated actress Greta Gerwig in her stage debut. According to MCC, "In Penelope Skinner's The Village Bike, Becky is pregnant – and friskier than ever. But she can't seem to get the attention of her husband, who is preoccupied with preparing for the baby's months-away arrival. So Becky takes matters into her own hands and sets out on an adventure that starts with the purchase of a used bike from a man in town and takes her further than she ever expected she'd go." Visit

The Lion (Off-Broadway at New York City Center – Stage II). Manhattan Theatre Club's The Lion, a new autobiographical solo musical, is written and performed by singer/songwriter Benjamin Scheuer and directed by Sean Daniels. Here's how the production is billed: "A true story of love, loss, family loyalty, and the redemptive power of music. Following an award-winning run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, writer/performer Benjamin Scheuer (winner of the ASCAP Cole Porter Award for songwriting) shares his gripping coming-of-age tale." Ethel Sings: The Unsung Song of Ethel Rosenberg (Off-Broadway at the Beckett Theatre @ Theatre Row). Ethel Sings is written by Joan Beber and directed by Will Pomerantz. The production promises a "wild theatrical ride to discover Ethel Rosenberg as you've never known her. A whimsical new play full of unexpected twists and turns, Ethel Sings looks fearlessly at the determined mother, singer, writer, and actress swept up in the fatal Red Scare hysteria of the 1950s. Her husband Julius' need to 'save the world' will be his undoing. Ethel's love for him will be hers." Visit
