The sixth Latin Grammy Awards will take place on November 3 at Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium, the Latin Recording Academy announced.

The awards, an offshoot of the 47-year-old Grammy Awards, include classical and jazz categories as well as prizes for pop music of various styles and nationalities. Previous winners include conductor Jos_ Serebrier, tenor Plšcido Domingo, and reed player Paquito D'Rivera, who won both the classical and jazz awards in 2003.

The awards will be broadcast on the Spanish-language network Univision for the first time. Nominees will be announced on August 23.
