News Laughing Liberally, Dunking the Tea Party With Comedy and Song, Begins NYC Run Laughing Liberally: This Ain't No Tea Party, an evening of comedy with music and multi-media presentations, makes its Off-Broadway debut beginning March 14 at the Midtown Theatre, 163 W. 46th Street, just east of Broadway.

Opening night is set for March 24 at 7 PM. This strictly limited engagement is set to run through May 22.

The current events-minded show "mixes humor, musical numbers, video, and political satire, to spread understanding of liberal ideas and provoke the Tea Party." Original songs for Laughing Liberally are written by Jamie Jackson and SoHee Youn.

Under the direction of Justin Krebs (author of "538 Ways to Live, Work & Play as a Liberal"), the show will feature John Fugelsang, Jim David, Dean Obeidallah, Baratunde Thurston, Negin Farsad, Lee Camp, Will Durst, Katie Halper, Jamie Kilstien, Jamie Jackson and Elon James White.

Laughing Liberally is presented by Living Liberally, "which builds progressive communities through social networks and events." Living Liberally is led by a New York-based team and fueled by the energy of hundreds of volunteers and partners around the country.

Low-priced preview performances ($10-$20) are Monday through Thursday at 7 PM, and Saturday at 7 PM (through March 23). Post-opening tickets will be $20-$40. The schedule is Monday, Friday and Saturday at 7 PM and Sunday at 5 PM. Tickets may be purchased online at www.laughingliberallynyc.com or by calling (212) 967-8278.
