These awards — for designers, directors, choreographers, songwriters and librettists — have traditionally been presented in the hour leading up to the 8 PM start of the network broadcast on CBS. Complete details about the presentation have not been announced.
It's not clear if Benanti (a Tony winner for Gypsy, and a 2011 nominee for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) and Finneran (Noises Off and Promises, Promises) and the creative arts winners will have a larger presence on the national telecast.
The 2011 Tony Awards, celebrating excellence in the 2010-11 Broadway season, will be presented at the Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side. Neil Patrick Harris will host the ceremony. CBS broadcasts the awards 8-11 PM (ET).
