News Laura Benanti to Star in "Playboy" Pilot for NBC Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will star in the NBC pilot "Playboy," according to deadline.com.

Benanti will play Carol-Lynne, a 30-year-old headliner at Chicago's Playboy club in 1963, who is nearing the end of her time as a Playboy Bunny.

Benanti received her Tony Award for Gypsy and most recently appeared on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Additional Broadway credits include In the Next Room, The Wedding Singer, Nine, Into the Woods, Swing! and The Sound of Music. Off-Broadway credits includes Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them; Gypsy; Wonderful Town; and Time and Again, among other credits.

"Playboy" will be produced by 20th TV/Imagine TV.
