Ambrose will play Ellie, a psychiatrist in charge of Bellevue Hospital's psychiatric unit on its weekend shift. As previously reported, Tony Award winner Janet McTeer will play the head of the hospital's psychiatry department.
Best known for her role on the HBO series "Six Feet Under," Ambrose has appeared on Broadway in Exit the King and Awake and Sing, as well as in the Public Theater productions of Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. She will have a recurring role on the upcoming season of the Starz series "Torchwood."
