“I am so excited to be opening this 10th Anniversary season with Vanities, a show that is incredibly personal to me after having starred in the Off-Broadway production!!! It has just been published through Samuel French, and we are the first theatre to license the show. We literally got the script and score HOT off the presses,” said Kennedy, who is also artistic director for Theatre Raleigh, in a statement.
Vanities features a book by Jack Heifner and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum.
The production team also includes musical director Jay Wright, stage manager Liz Ray, scenic designer Thomas Mauney and costume designer Denise Schumaker. The summer season will also include productions of Blood Done Sign My Name, Other Desert Cities, Parade, Crimes of the Heart and The Music of Hot Summer Nights.
Season packages start at $166 and single tickets are $22-$30 and are available at www.theatreraleigh.com.
